Thank you for your time.
In the face of adversity, the collective power of human compassion and unity shines the brightest. It is a profound reminder that together, we are capable of extraordinary achievements. The success of our recent event, for the Children of Gaza is a testament to this truth. Each contribution, each hand extended in solidarity, has not only brought us closer to justice and aid for those in need but has also set a beacon of hope amidst darkness.
The heart-wrenching scenes from Gaza, the injustice, and the suffering of innocent souls are unbearable, often leaving me in a state of disbelief and despair.
I extend my deepest gratitude to everyone who supported the ‘Saving the Children of Gaza’ fundraiser. To my team, the organizing committee, and every individual who poured their soul into making this event a beacon of hope, your dedication is the light in this darkness. The funds we raised for Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) and their invaluable work are a step towards mending the fabric of humanity torn by this conflict.
Yet, it’s with a heavy heart that I wish for a world where such events are not necessary, a world where children grow up in peace rather than in the shadow of conflict. The stories and images from Gaza families have left an indelible mark on us, rendering us speechless and calling us to action.
As we move forward, let this event not just be a memory but a catalyst for change.
The scenes of suffering have compelled us to take action, to do more than just witness from afar.
We are now setting our sights on an ambitious and urgent mission: to bring as many orphans to Canada, in dire need of immediate medical attention, those for whom our world-class burn hospitals can be lifesavers. This is a monumental undertaking, filled with challenges and uncertainties, but the potential to save lives is too significant to ignore.
We must try, despite the hurdles we may face.
May blessings be upon you, upon the innocent souls across the globe, and may we all pray and work towards a world filled with peace, justice, and love.
Together, we can shape a future worthy of our children.
- Abbis Mahmoud, Founder & President
